On September 4th, 2024, the Swastha Ahar: Ayurvedic Culinary Showcase was organized by the Swasthavritta evam Yoga department, celebrating Nutrition Week. The event featured a variety of Ayurvedic dishes prepared by second-year BAMS students, who not only showcased their culinary skills but also provided insights into the nutritional value and Ayurvedic principles behind the recipes.
Some of the Dishes Presented by the students like Kharjuradi Mantha,Moong Daal Halwa, Rasal,Ayurvedic Khichdi, Makhana Chaat,Chana chaat, Sattu drink, Petha Laddu,Bajra khichdi, Nariyal Kheer,etc. The dishes presented in the program were rich in essential nutrients such as protein, fiber, vitamins, and healthy fats. The ingredients used were carefully selected to balance the Tridoshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) and to support overall well-being.
The event was guided by Managing Director Dr. Kangana Yadav, who emphasized the significant role of a balanced diet in maintaining good health. She explained how incorporating Ayurvedic principles into daily nutrition helps in achieving holistic well-being. She encouraged students to continue exploring the benefits of traditional recipes in promoting overall health.
Dr. Sabiha Bano,Principal, Dr. Ravindra Nirwal, Vice Principal, and other faculty members appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to practice what they had learned.
The program was organized under the leadership of Dr. Ruby Dahiya(Associate Professor), Head of the Swasthavritta evam Yoga Department, with support from Dr. Varsha (Assistant Professor). Both mentors played a crucial role in guiding the students and ensuring the success of the event.
